The average wedding costs over $25,000 and for some people, the costs can stretch well into the 6 figures. And have you seen the cost of wedding flowers, I mean seriously?

So how does this even happen?

As we’ve shown here, things just add up. There are a lot of smaller purchases, which over time, add up to something a lot larger.

You have to think about:

• Headpieces;
• Dress accessories;
• Wedding dresses;
• tuxedos/suits;
• Makeup;
• Hair service;
• Mani-pedis;
• The DJ;
• Bouquets;
• Wedding Flowers;
• Etc.
• Etc.
• Etc.

Really the list just keeps going.

So if you are a cost conscious couple, what are the different ways you can think to minimize costs?

One way is to do everything by yourself. Rent a venue not typically used for weddings. Don’t require anyone to buy fancy clothing, and just don’t put any add ons.

Of course other people are the opposite. They want to make a wedding a luxurious affair that they will always remember.

There really is no right way to do it. It’s all up to you.
